Tracy Martinez grew up in Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She was a post-anesthesia nurse (recovery room) and later the Director of Education at a Southern California hospital. She then became interested in obesity and has devoted the her career working with individuals on weight loss and a healthier life style. She directs a multidisciplinary team in the surgical and medical management of obesity. Tracy went through a life changing experience when her father’s illness consumed most of her time, emotion and well being. She hit a frightening low point when the stress overcame her. She then began her research on the proven benefits of combing western medicine with all the best of eastern medicine. Following her father’s illness, a dear friend was diagnosed with a very rare type cancer. Tracy diligently continued researching holistic medicine and applied it to conventional medicine treatments. Research has demonstrated that the combination of both (maybe some more than the other) is the most effective treatment for any disease. It was at that time when Tracy knew her passion was to teach others to gain health and harmony that can be sustain them throughout one’s life and continue to thrive even in the tough times.

Tracy became a Certified Health Instructor at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad California in 2015 to further her holistic education.

As a nurse, Tracy was very aware that in today’s medical environment, we spend all our time and resources on disease instead of health and well-being. She hopes to play a significant role in shifting that paradigm.
